Plants: Ficus benghalensis, Loquat tree, Staghorn Fern, Philodendron, Alocasia

For this new bakery in Hayes Valley, we pulled inspiration from the potted gardens of the Mediterranean to create a space that felt warm with life but would not overcrowd the snug cafe.

We filled in the lofted space with clusters of staggered Philodendron, light-loving ferns, and Alocasia. We planted a potted Loquat tree in the entry and placed a sculptural Ficus benghalensis in the spot with the most visual traffic to immediately ground your eye in the space.
